The Ascension
Acts 1:4-5
On the outskirts of Jerusalem, Jesus met with his beloved disciples. They huddled around Him, hanging onto every word. He spoke to them about the Kingdom of God and gave them a promise: "Wait for the gift my Father promised. Soon, you will be baptized with the Holy Spirit."
Acts 1:6
Curious, the disciples asked, "Lord, are you going to give Israel its own kingdom again?" They still had hopes for a mighty, earthly kingdom. But Jesus, with a gentle smile, reminded them that there were bigger things at play, mysteries only the Father knew.
Acts 1:7-8
"It's not for you to know the times set by the Father," Jesus told them. "But when the Holy Spirit comes, you will receive power. And you will tell everyone about me, everywhere - from Jerusalem to the farthest corners of the earth."
Acts 1:9
As they listened, something incredible happened. Jesus began to rise from the ground, ascending towards the sky! Their eyes widened in amazement as they watched him go higher and higher, a silhouette against the clouds.
Acts 1:10-11
While they were still gazing upward, two figures in dazzling white stood beside them. "Why are you looking at the sky?" they asked. "Jesus, who has been taken from you into heaven, will come back in the same way you saw him go." It was a promise of hope and a future reunion.
