The Transfiguration of Jesus
Matthew 17:1-2
Jesus, along with Peter, James, and John, embarked on a journey, hiking up a towering mountain. Their footsteps were steady, and the air grew cooler as they climbed. Little did the three friends know, they were about to witness something that would forever be etched in their memories.
Matthew 17:2-3
Reaching a serene spot, the world around them shifted. Jesus transformed before their eyes, radiating a brilliant light. His face was as dazzling as the sun, and his clothes sparkled, whiter than diamonds. As they were soaking in this miraculous sight, two legendary figures from ancient stories, Moses and Elijah, appeared, engaging in a deep conversation with Jesus.
Matthew 17:4-6
Overwhelmed with awe and wanting to honor the moment, Peter excitedly said, "Lord, it's wonderful for us to be here! If you want, I'll make three shelters: one for you, one for Moses, and one for Elijah." But as he spoke, a thick cloud enveloped them, causing the disciples to tremble with fear.
Matthew 17:5-8
From within the misty cloud, a voice echoed, "This is my Son, whom I love; with him, I am well pleased. Listen to him!" The voice was both comforting and commanding. As the cloud lifted, only Jesus stood before them, the glowing spectacle over. He approached his friends, urging them not to be afraid and to keep this wondrous event a secret until the right time.
