The Great Commission

Part One: A Familiar Mountain

Matthew 28:16

In the heart of Galilee stood a mountain, its peak reaching to the skies. The disciples, following Jesus' instructions, trekked up this familiar path. Every step was filled with anticipation. What would Jesus, their risen Lord, have to say to them?

Part Two: Doubts and Worship

Matthew 28:17

As they reached the summit, there he was, Jesus, looking as regal and gentle as ever. The sight of him, alive and well, overwhelmed many. They fell to their knees in worship. Yet, some were uncertain, their faith still wobbling like a flickering candle. But Jesus, with his all-embracing love, was about to empower each one of them.

Part Three: All Authority

Matthew 28:18

With the vast expanse of the world stretched out below them, Jesus began, "All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me." His voice, firm and gentle, filled the mountain air, reminding the disciples of the divine power backing his words.

Part Four: The Grand Task

Matthew 28:19-20a

"Therefore, go and make disciples of all nations," Jesus instructed. "Baptize them, teach them, and remember," he added with a reassuring tone, "I'm with you, always."

Part Five: The Everlasting Promise

Matthew 28:20b

Gazing into their eyes, Jesus promised, "I am with you always, even to the end of the age." It was more than a command; it was an invitation to join in the greatest adventure ever, with the assurance that Jesus would be by their side every step of the way.
